An Impressive and beautifully weathered terracotta amphora or olive jar of good proportions, with four moulded loop handles, dating to the mid 20th century, circa 1950s. Their primary purpose…… to store water, wine and/or olive oils. Today these highly decorative artforms are prized equally for their interior ornamentation as they are as garden features. Often used as planters or stand alone inspiration.
Many of these pots are old and as such will have aged imperfections. Any dings or chips are part of its history and are what gives it, its character and charm.
Condition: No structural cracks noted. Some minor chipping to base. Overall superb. Solid, robust and fully functional.
