Antique Arts & Crafts Oak Open Display Bookcase
Antique Arts & Crafts Oak Open Display Bookcase
A simple yet striking early 20th century Arts & Crafts open display bookcase, circa 1920s. Constructed in oak and crafted very much in the manner of the Glasgow school of art and design. From the top the triangular shaped gallery pediment sits above five fixed open shelves. These in turn are flanked by the upright supports that display the wonderfully exposed & original dome head ironware, that flow into and form the outline raised leg structure.
A superb match of aesthetics and design that give the whole piece a wonderful sense of balance which sits easy on the eye.
Honey oak - Rich in colour and in grain
Condition: Wear is commensurate to its age. Solid robust and fully functional. Dings, marks or scars associated with a working piece of furniture. Photos sum up nicely the overall condition and character. Darker candle mark to underside shelf is in colour only and adds to its charm.
I would consider this an absolute gem!
