An absolute design classic, A stunning pair of original, circa 1950s Jielde task lamp/wall sconces. Naturally aged with a beautiful bronze like patination to the iconic shade and a smooth crackle type glaze to the inner giving a look that only time can achieve. Each lamp having one arm with three adjustable knuckles to satisfy all lighting requirements. Although these lamps are priced individually preference goes to keeping them together…… Simply Stunning!
Jielde lamp, lights designed by the French engineer Jean-Louis Domecq in the 1950s for use in factories as a work lamp. It has a unique internal wiring system that allows the ball joints to be rotated without breaking the wire. The name “Jielde” comes from the French pronunciation of his initials: Ji-eL-De.
“Simple, robust and articulated in order to adapt to all working stations”, the Jielde lamp is an iconic French industrial piece.
Fully functional. Adjusts and holds all positions as intended. Original toggle switch, bulb holder and green & blue maker’s label.
