Art Deco Tailors Shop Walnut Cheval Mirror
A striking & highly decorative Art Deco walnut Tailors shop cheval dressing mirror, circa 1930s. The full length angular, original mirror plate within a cushion frame and shaped upright supports. All raised on a shaped angular base with similar shaped block feet. The walnut construction displays an enviable rich tiger like grain, deep in colour with a wonderful balance of lighter tones showing through. Looking into the mirror, the left side frame support displays a well moulded & decorative Bakelite finial, The right side adjustable finial no longer exists. The mirror sits naturally and deliberately at its most functional and practical position, presenting itself perfectly.
A real interior design piece, where aesthetics are matched by versatility and function.
Condition: Substantial & extremely well crafted. Gentle foxing to mirror plate,(superb) Dings, marks or scars commensurate with age. Photos sum up nicely. A tiny concealed wedge (supplied) to keep in vertical upright position if desired.
