19th Century Cast Iron & Marble Adjustable Side / Wine Table
19th Century Cast Iron & Marble Adjustable Side / Wine Table
A splendid 19th century cast Iron & marble adjustable side/wine table of pedestal form, in the manner of Jennens and Betteridge of London and Birmingham.
The table with a beautifully honed and softly curved Carrara marble top of rectangular form; raised on a highly crafted central fluted column and terminating in four splayed cast iron legs with paw feet.
The two original heavy gauge adjusting bolts (one for height and the other for orientation) makes for an extremely versatile and functional show piece.
Great for displaying booze & decanters or plants, sculptures…etc.
The previous marble top has been replaced with a beautiful piece of Carrara which has been professionally shaped and honed by ‘Supreme Mable of Bristol’
Honed marble is a type of marble that has undergone a specific finishing process, resulting in a matte or satin-like surface. Unlike polished marble, which has a high-gloss and reflective finish, honed marble has a smooth, non-reflective appearance. It is achieved by grinding the marble’s surface to a consistent level, removing any imperfections, and creating a flat, even texture.
