A striking early 20th century, Arts & Crafts open display bookcase bureau desk, circa 1910. Constructed in oak and crafted very much in the manner of the Glasgow school of art & design. The substantial gallery top displays handsome open work carvings that sit above a fall front section that opens up to reveal a variable sized compartmental interior. Mid section, a single drawer positioned above two open display, deep and sturdy bookshelves. All flanked by the upright supports that flow into and form the outline raised leg structure. The gorgeous exposed repoussé work copper hinges and handles take this piece to another level. Label exists to the interior for B. Maggs & Co, Bristol.
